# 4930 is recommended as a standard styling comb, performs excellently in pre-forming/draft stage, and also the later preliminary (prototyping) stage at 85%-95% dryness stage, and then final stage at 100% hair dryness. Functions as a detangler as well, and is robust enough to do so, the spine is very thick, as thick as # 6450 and # 5600 , which is quite a bit more than the standard combs which are thinner and more brittle. It is intended as a all-purpose Stylist comb that follows in the form of standard Japanese barber's combs which do have this exact teeth spacing and shape, this style which seems to be far less common in Europe. The best stage to use this comb and where it shines, is in final stage shaping of difficult hairstyles, especially those of naturally wavy, thick hair types like Asian hair. It is robust enough to handle aggressive waving, curling, twisting and detangling without damaging the hair or the comb teeth, for both male and female, but is more suited to medium to long length hair. When hair isn't forming or pressing together into the shape you want, be aggressive with this comb and various creative techniques to mould the hair into complex shapes. Strongly recommended.
