How do you use a glass foot file?
Dry heels and calluses on the feet look very unattractive, and are also a place of constant accumulation of dirt. You probably want to show others your beautiful legs, not only in the summer, but every day of the year. For the beauty and health of the feet, you need to use a special scraper that will help you get rid of calluses and corns.
Part 1 Preparing to use the foot file
First of all, determine which type of scrapers is right for you, and which one will allow you to take care of your legs most effectively. There are many types of scrapers that you can purchase. You can purchase an easy-to-use and easy-to-clean glass foot scraper or a file for scraping rough skin off your heels. These tools can be doused with boiling water or treated with an antibacterial agent to keep the rough surface clean. It is better to buy a scraper made of thick glass, so as not to accidentally break it. Our foot files are made exactly of thick glass!
Part 2 Prepare a basin of water.
Any container that will fit your feet will do. It is not necessary to make a foot bath, but it is a very pleasant procedure. The water should be so hot that you can immerse your feet in it without getting burned.
Add oils, salts, and vitamins to the water.
You can get the most out of this procedure. You can add shampoo or soap to it to get a foam or choose a favourite fragrance that suits your mood. Some people use special products for pedicures containing vitamin A, E, or D.
*You can add minerals or special salt to the bath. Salt helps in the treatment of cracked skin and relieves pain in the legs.
*You may want to add some oil to the water to hydrate your skin. A good choice will be aromatic or essential oils: olive, chamomile or lavender. Add a teaspoon of one of these oils to the bath to soften the skin.
*You can also add mineral-rich seaweed or menthol.
Part 3 Using a foot scraper
1)Soak the legs in water. Now the bath is completely ready to start the process of softening your skin. Immerse your feet in it and enjoy the procedure. You should keep your feet in the bath for at least 5 minutes, but many recommend soaking them for 15 minutes, which will make the skin very soft. Before using the scraper, the skin should become as soft as possible, perhaps even begin to wrinkle, which prevents it from being damaged during the procedure.
2)Dry your feet. Place a towel next to the basin. Remove your feet and place them on a dry towel. Lightly dry it. You need to dry your feet a little before using the scraper, but they should not have time to get rough again.
3)Feel the roughness. Now that your feet have become softer after the bath, run your hand to feel the calloused areas. Run your hand over the foot to identify the roughest areas of the skin, such as the pads of the foot, the heel, and the upper part of the toes. After determining the areas with the greatest roughness, proceed to the use of a scraper.
4)Use a foot scraper. Take one foot and place it on the knee of the opposite leg to make it easier for you to use the scraper. Hold the scraper parallel to the foot and move downwards to remove rough areas of skin. Continue until all the roughness is removed.
Use a scraper on the areas where you have found rough skin. Avoid tender, sensitive areas.
Sometimes, using a scraper will remove only a small part of the skin. This is because in some areas the thickening is not so significant.
Use the scraper on the second foot, placing it on the knee of the opposite leg.
Part 4 Complete the pedicure procedure
Check your feet. Run your hand over them and make sure that the skin is smooth. Explore the areas that you have paid special attention to. If you still feel rough, repeat the procedure again or use pumice stone. You should definitely notice the difference.
Don't overdo it. You can remove too much skin and cause redness, irritation, or even get cuts.
Moisturize the skin of the feet. After removing the calluses, you need to use a foot cream to moisturize the skin. Pay special attention to the areas that you have treated with the scraper. You can use a lotion, oil or cream, but make sure that it is well absorbed into the skin.
Massage your feet. Massage is very useful for the feet and for your renewed skin. It increases blood circulation, relaxes the muscles and relieves pain. Massage each foot for about 1 minute.
